MBT-ESTSP

Evaluation of the Influence of MBT Footwear on Postural Control Strategies and Peripheral Hemodynamic Parameters.

Finished (4 years: 2010 – 2013)

The MBT-ESTSP project, carried out in partnership with the MBT Ibérica company, aimed to evaluate the potential of using Masai Barefoot Technology (MBT) footwear in the peripheral venous circulation and postural control. The results of this project point to the use of these footwear as a prophylactic measure regarding the peripheral venous insufficiency and as a measure to optimize postural control in risk populations. The findings obtained give indications to the shoe industry for a niche market that can be exploited.
